Brandywine Zoo
Welcome to Delaware's only zoo, Delaware State Park's Brandywine Zoo. Located in the midst of 180 acres of Brandywine Park, the Zoo is situated across from the Brandywine River, just a few blocks from the center of Wilmington. It is a place filled with interesting exhibits and tranquil, enjoyable picnic and observation areas.

A landmark in Wilmington since 1905, today's Brandywine Zoo features animals native to North and South America and temperate Asia.

Membership Information
When you become a member you not only get to take advantage of all the Zoo's fascinating programs, updates about the animals and activities in "Zoo News", you also receive guest passes, discounts on the Zoo's educational programs, reciprocal privileges with 100 other zoos, and best of all, you're helping the Brandywine Zoo to offer you and others the chance to experience the wonder of wildlife.

Explanation of Categories
Listed below are the benefits you'll receive for different levels of membership. Check with your financial advisor to see how much of your fee/donation is tax deductible.

INDIVIDUAL $25

Provides membership for one individual in the Delaware Zoological Society with membership card providing free and unlimited admission to The Brandywine Zoo for a 12 month period.
  1. Free or reduced-cost admission to over 100 zoos and aquariums in the United States and Canada.
  2. Subscription to Zoo News, Brandywine Zoo's newsletter.
  3. Invitations to "Members Only" events.
  4. Reduced admission fees and advance notice of educational programs.
  5. 10% discount on all purchases at Zootique, Brandywine Zoo's unique boutique.
Also includes: Three (3) free guest passes which may be used any time throughout the year.

SENIOR $35

Provides membership for up to two adults (at least one of whom is age 60 or older) and up to 4 other individuals under age 18. Includes all benefits 1-5 listed under Individual Membership for a 12 month period.

Also includes: Four (4) free guest passes which may be used any time throughout the year.

HOUSEHOLD $45

Provides membership for up to two adults and up to 4 other individuals under age 18. Includes all benefits 1-5 listed under Individual Membership for a 12 month period.

Also includes: Four (4) free guest passes which may be used any time throughout the year.

DONOR $75

Donor level memberships contribute toward education and conservation programs at the Brandywine Zoo. This membership includes all benefits 1-5 listed under Individual Membership for a 12 month period and admits up to 2 adults and up to 4 other individuals under age 18.

Also includes: Five (5) free guest passes which may be used any time throughout the year.

NATURALIST $100

Naturalist level memberships contribute toward education and conservation programs at the Brandywine Zoo and also offer an opportunity to participate in the A.D.O.P.T. Program. This membership includes all benefits 1-5 listed under Individual Membership for a 12 month period and admits up to 2 adults and up to 4 other individuals under age 18.

Also includes:
  • Six (6) free guest passes which may be used any time throughout the year.
  • Invitation to "special invitation" events at the Brandywine Zoo.
  • Includes opportunity to select an animal from Lists A-C for participation in the A.D.O.P.T. Program for one year.
ZOO-GOODER $250

Zoo-Gooder level memberships help support the Zoo's mission to educate and entertain through special programs at the Brandywine Zoo and outreach into the community. This membership includes all benefits 1-5 listed under Individual Membership for a 12 month period and admits up to 2 adults and up to 4 other individuals under age 18.

Also includes:
  • Eight (8) free guest passes which may be used any time throughout the year.
  • Discount for purchases at Zootique is increased to 15%.
  • Invitation to "special invitation" events.
  • Support for the Traveling Zoo which allows educational staff to take the Zoo experience beyond Zoo gates.
  • Opportunity to select an animal from Lists A-C for participation in the A.D.O.P.T. Program for one year.

ANIMAL ENTHUSIAST $500

Animal Enthusiast level memberships support the mission of the Brandywine Zoo by helping children and families receive financial assistance for educational programs. This membership includes all benefits 1- 5 listed under Individual Membership for a 12 month period and admits up to 2 adults and up to 4 other individuals under age 18.

Also includes:
  • Eight (8) free guest passes which may be used any time throughout the year.
  • Provides scholarship assistance for qualified children to attend educational programs and/or Zoo Camp during the year.
  • Opportunity to select an animal from Lists A-G for participation in the A.D.O.P.T. Program for one year.
  • Discount for purchases at Zootique is increased to 15%.
  • Advance notice and opportunity to attend special events or trips planned by The Delaware Zoological Society.

RARE BIRD $1,000

Rare Bird level memberships support the mission of the Brandywine Zoo by providing support for all education and conservation programs. This membership includes all benefits 1-5 listed under the Individual membership for a 12 month period and admits up to 2 adults and up to 4 other individuals under age 18.

Also includes:
  • Eight (8) free guest passes which may be used any time throughout the year.
  • A special "Behind the Scenes" tour of the Brandywine Zoo conducted by the director of the Zoo at a mutually agreed upon date. Rare Bird members may invite up to 6 friends or family to attend the tour.
  • Opportunity to select an animal from Lists A-H for participation in the A.D.O.P.T. Program for one year.
  • Discount for purchases at Zootique is increased to 15%.
  • Provides scholarship assistance for qualified children to attend educational programs and/or Zoo Camp during the year.
  • Advance notice and opportunity to attend special events or trips planned by The Delaware Zoological Society.
  • Name inscribed on a donor plaque and displayed on Zoo grounds.
