The Brandywine Zoo is located in beautiful Brandywine Park in Wilmington, Delaware. The Zoo grounds cover 13 landscaped acres on high ground above the Brandywine River. The Zoo is open all year round.

The Brandywine Zoo is managed by the Division of Parks and Recreation with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society. The Brandywine Zoo is a member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) and is one of 214 accredited zoos and aquariums in North America, a distinction that marks its commitment to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for the visitor and a better future for all living things.
 
Hours & Fees
The Brandywine Zoo is open daily from 10:00am to 5:00pm through Labor Day and daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm the remainder of the year. Zoo members are admitted FREE.

Stroller Rentals
Stroller rental is $3.00 for a single stroller; $5.00 for a double stroller. (Limited availability)

Accessibility
The Brandywine Zoo is wheel chair and stroller accessible.

Lost & Found
For lost children or personal articles or in the case of an emergency, visitors should go to the Administration Building or the Zootique Gift Shop. Phone inquiries, call (302) 571-7788.

Parking
Parking is free to all. Park in the following places:
  • Mid-way up Van Buren St. (the cobblestone hill) just behind the Education Building there are limited parking spaces that include two spaces reserved for handicapped parking. These spaces are closest to the Zoo entrance.
  • Extensive parking across from the Zoo in Brandywine Park just off of North Park Drive.
Permissions
During your visit you may be filmed, videotaped, and/or photographed by a Brandywine Zoo employee, contract photographer, and or the news media. Your attendance serves as permission for the use of your image by the Brandywine Zoo and its constituents.
