An event every week that begins at 9:00am on Saturday, repeating until 02/02/2019
The Docent Program will allow individuals over the age of 18 to train with our zoo staff for the first five Saturdays of 2019 in animal taxonomy, presentation skills, animal behavior interpretation, zoonotic disease awareness and prevention, Association of Zoos and Aquarium (AZA) standards, Species Survival Plans (SSPs) and much more! The benefits of this program include: access to over 100 years of combined zoological expertise, the opportunity to network with education and keeper staff during training, a DE State Parks Volunteer ID which will give you free entrance to all state parks during the yearly duration of your service (renewable) and the opportunity to access our online zoological course academy from San Diego Zoo with an additional certificate upon completion.
If interested, book us into your calendar from 9am to 3pm on 1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26 and 2/2 at the Education Building adjacent to the zoo on Monkey Hill, send your resume along with a letter of interest or cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org with the title “Docent Program 2019 Signup”. If you are interested in Docent Training but cannot make the 2019 dates, please contact us and we can send additional volunteering opportunities.”
