SUMMARY:Spring Native Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:Stop by to purchase a six pack of plants native to this area and great for pollinators. Not only are there flowers to provide nectar and pollen\, but this year a type of sedge is included too. It is a host plant for grass skippers\, a group of small butterflies. \n\n\nThese fast flyers are fuzzy with big heads and often hold their wings in a jet-plane position when sitting still. In this posture their forewings are folded above their body with the hindwings flattened to the side. Be sure to look for them after planting! Another important host plant in the sale is milkweed. That is the only plant monarch caterpillars will eat\, so without milkweed we won’t have monarch butterflies.\n\nAdding native plants like these to the landscape not only supports pollinating insects and birds\, but the greater biodiversity within our ecosystem. Join us in reversing habitat loss while strengthening our work behind the scenes through your donation to the Conservation Fund with each purchase.\n\n\nPlants are provided by North Creek Nurseries and do not contain neonicotinoids. \nLEARN MORE
