The Brandywine Zoo is in Brandywine Park, Wilmington, Delaware. The zoo is less than five acres and is home to animals that range from more common species to the highly endangered. The Brandywine Zoo provides numerous learning experiences and events for all ages throughout the year. See below other details.
The Brandywine Zoo is managed by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society. The Brandywine Zoo is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums.

Hours
The Brandywine Zoo is open daily, 10am – 4pm (last admission at 3:30pm).
Please note the Zoo is closed on Christmas Day and may close for bad weather or construction projects. May close early for special evening events.
Age Requirements
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Refunds/Rain Checks
We regret that we cannot offer refunds or rain checks.
Accessibility
The zoo and all exhibits are wheelchair and stroller accessible. However, due to the slope of the landscape, some areas may be less accessible than others. For more specific information on zoo accessibility please visit the Accessibility page.
Lost & Found
For lost children, personal articles or in the case of an emergency, visitors should go to the Admissions Building/Zootique Gift Shop.

Parking & Directions
General parking is located in Brandywine Park along the Brandywine River across from the zoo grounds. Handicapped parking spaces are located adjacent to the Education Building (close to the zoo entrance) and spots are in the general lot along the river. Parking is free to all. Library Pass Program
Passes can be checked out from select libraries throughout Delaware, PA & NJ. The pass includes admission for 2 adults and up to 4 children. The passes can be checked out with a current library card. These tend be popular especially in the summer, so reserve the pass ahead of time online. The Library Passes are valid on general admission days but not accepted during special ticketed events like Boo at the Zoo.

ACCESS Delaware
$2 per person for up to 4 people. Delaware residents who monitor their government-issued cash, food, or medical benefits with an EBT card, as well as Delawareans with disabilities who have an Art-Reach Access Card, can visit for $2 per person for up to four people. Simply present your valid Delaware EBT card or Art-Reach ACCESS card with a photo ID at the admissions desk to receive the reduced rate. (Discount not valid during special ticketed events) Delaware ACCESS card and Art-Reach cards accepted here, not PA cards.

The Brandywine Zoo is one of over 1800 locations across the United States (and one of many AZA institutions) certified through KultureCity. KultureCity is the nation’s leading nonprofit on sensory accessibility and acceptance for those with invisible disabilities, and we are currently the second Sensory Inclusive certified location in the state of Delaware. KultureCity’s Sensory Inclusive program is designed to help guests with sensory needs like PTSD, autism, dementia, and strokes, just to name a few, feel welcomed. Combining training by professionals, sensory bags, and signage, the program helps ensure that all guests are accepted and included regardless of the event they are attending.
