Grounds Keeper
This seasonal year-round, Zoo Grounds Keeper position will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, buildings, and non-animal spaces in the Zoo. This includes but is not limited to horticulture and landscaping (planting, weeding, pruning, watering, mowing, etc.), seasonal weather preparation and cleanup (leaf removal, snow, and ice clearing), event support (set up, break down, etc.), building upkeep (pressure washing, cleaning gutters, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, and refuse removal), maintaining supplies and equipment, and public interaction as a member of Zoo staff.

Visitor Services Associate
We are looking for friendly and energetic people to join our team on a part-time basis. As part of the Visitor Services team at the Brandywine Zoo, the associate will create a positive and fun experience for all guests. Currently we are looking for individuals to work in the Concession Stand, Gift Shop and Ticket Window. This team member will welcome guests and help create an excellent customer service experience whether it is buying admission tickets or a snack from the concession stand. This is a temporary part-time seasonal position that runs through December. Hours are 9:45-4pm and must be available weekdays. Customer service experience/retail is preferred but not required. Pay rate is $11.75/hr. Must be at least 17 years old.

Zoo Camp Counselor
Our Camp Counselors will be working with our full time education staff to develop and implement themed camp lesson plans, materials, and evaluation tools for our camp programs for children ages 4-17. The Brandywine Zoo Camp offers children the chance to spend a week at the zoo learning about animals, zoos, and wildlife conservation. Each week is filled with Zoo visits, live animal presentations, crafts, animal-related games, songs, stories, and learning projects. A Zoo Camp Counselor will be responsible for the organization and management of these activities. A Zoo Camp Counselor will also work with teen volunteers, live animals, and will help children learn about our natural environment in a non-traditional setting. Applicants must be available to work holidays as scheduled. Work is performed under various weather conditions and is largely outdoors.
