Behind the Build at the Brandywine Zoo
The multi-species habitat construction is underway!
Behind the Build
We’ve got some exciting construction happening—so we’re launching Behind the Build, your weekly peek into the progress and how our animals are doing along the way.
Heads up: Some areas are temporarily closed until we build. But don’t worry—our animals are comfortable, safe, and cared for every day by our amazing team.
Project Highlights
- Construction of a one-story behind-the-scenes care area with a section for public viewing
- Dedicated keeper support areas within the behind-the-scenes care area
- Interior systems designed to safely house animals
- Mesh netting enclosure
- Artificial rockwork stream and artificial trees integrated into the habitat, and
- Flexible design to accommodate future animal species.
