We’ve got some exciting construction happening—so we’re launching Behind the Build, your weekly peek into the progress and how our animals are doing along the way.

Heads up: Some areas are temporarily closed until we build. But don’t worry—our animals are comfortable, safe, and cared for every day by our amazing team.

Project Highlights

Construction of a one-story behind-the-scenes care area with a section for public viewing
Dedicated keeper support areas within the behind-the-scenes care area
Interior systems designed to safely house animals
Mesh netting enclosure
Artificial rockwork stream and artificial trees integrated into the habitat, and
Flexible design to accommodate future animal species.

Things are moving, changing, and growing at Brandywine Zoo!

Our new multi-species habitat is taking shape, and we’re so thankful to everyone who supported Our Zoo Re-imagined and helped bring this project to life.

On-site and overseeing the progress is Chief Inspector Spirit, our Angora goat.

What once felt like a distant dream is now becoming a reality.
Our new multi-species habitat is really starting to take shape, and we’re feeling incredibly grateful for everyone who helped make it possible through support of Our Zoo Re-imagined.

And of course, every great project needs a Construction Supervisor — ours just happens to be Bushmallow, our San Clemente Island goat.
