Come dressed in your best butterfly attire as we celebrate all things Monarch Butterfly at our annual Mighty Monarch Day! They’ve spent their summer in Delaware and are now fluttering their way to Mexico for the winter. Learn about the Monarch’s incredible journey and celebrate the places they call home through special themed activities. Ms. Lia from Language U will be doing a Spanish Language Storytime featuring the book Senorita Mariposa.
Special guest Scotty Horey will perform on the marimba at our Wildlife Amphitheater! This talented musician hits the stage at noon to introduce you to an instrument popular in Mexico.
We’ll also be participating in our annual Symbolic Migration, so everyone is welcome to contribute and color your own butterfly to be shared with students in Mexico!
