International Vulture Awareness Weekend

Join us Labor Day Weekend to celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day. Special learning stations and keeper talks will focus on vultures and condors.

Zippity Zoo Days

During Arts Festival. Zoo is open until 5pm on Saturday

Enjoy a special weekend of arts at the Zoo during the Brandywine Festival of Arts! Enjoy some special activities and artwork created by our animal artists.

International Red Panda Day

Saturday, September 15, 10:00am – 1:00pm

Become a Red Panda Ranger! This special title is given to children who have learned about red pandas and are ready to spread the word about the importance of conservation. Visit various Red Panda learning stations to earn your ‘Red Panda Ranger’ badge!

Brew at the Zoo

Friday, September 21, 5:30pm – 9:00pm
Ages 21+

Join the Delaware Zoological Society, which supports the Brandywine Zoo, in its annual fundraiser, Brew at the Zoo.  Visit the zoo after hours for this fun, outdoor event which includes tastings of beer in a keepsake souvenir cup. Light fare provided by local restaurants. See an assortment of free-flight birds from Animal Behavior & Conservation Connections. Plus, a variety of unique items are available under our Silent Auction tent with proceeds benefiting the Zoo. Please note the Zoo will close at 1pm for setup.  Advanced tickets are available through BrandywineZoo.org, or in the Zoo Gift Shop. Brew t-shirts are available for purchase and the gift shop is open for shopping! Must be 21 or older to attend, no children at the event. Rain or shine. Pre-registration recommended, as this event will sell out and tickets won’t be available at the door.

World Bird Day

Saturday, October 13, 10:00am – 3:30pm
2018 is the Year of the Bird! Celebrate all things bird! Fall Migration is happening and you don’t want to miss it! Learn about observing birds at our bird blind and how to attract birds to your home, kids can craft their own “binoculars” during craft time, join us for a special bird Story Time and more!


Boo at the Zoo

Friday, October 19 & Saturday, October 20, 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Celebrate Halloween Brandywine Zoo-style with this merry, not scary, event. Come dressed in a Halloween costume and trick-or-treat through the zoo!

Scout Night

Saturday, November 3, 4:15pm – 6:00pm

Enjoy an evening designed for scouts and their families!  Registered participants will enjoy games, crafts, and activities all geared toward scout requirements. Brandywine Zoo patches available for purchase. This is an outdoor event, so dress for the weather. Pre-registration recommended. Deadline for registration is October 30.

Fee: $10/person; includes scouts, parents, leaders, siblings.

Breakfast with Santa

Saturday, December 8 & Sunday, December 9, 9:00am – 10:00am

Celebrate the holidays by enjoying a pancake, egg, and& sausage breakfast with Santa! Share your holiday wishes bring your camera to take photos with Santa and some animal friends. Enjoy a few up-close animal encounters all before the zoo opens and watch a few animals get their breakfast! Breakfast is provided by Janssen’s Market. Pre-registration required as space is very limited for this event. All participants ages 18 months and up must pay program fee.

Hot Cocoa with Santa

Saturday, December 8, 10:30am – 12:00pm

Change your name from “naughty” to “nice” before it’s too late, and have some hot cocoa and treats with Santa! Don your reindeer ears, bring your wish list, and snap a pic with Santa! Fun crafts and special reading of a holiday story. Don’t forget your holiday cheer… Bring your camera! All participants ages 18 months and up must pay program fee.

Noon Year’s Eve

Monday, December 31, 11:00am – 12:15pm

Celebrate the New Year Zoo-style by ringing in the New Year at NOON!  We’ll have games, crafts, a holiday atmosphere and of course a sparkling cider to sip on as the clock strikes 12 (Noon that is!)  Program takes place in the zoo so dress for the weather! Program fees will start being charged at Admission Gates at 10:00am.
