Brandywine Zoo!
The Brandywine Zoo is less than five acres and located in Wilmington, Delaware, along the Brandywine River in beautiful Brandywine Park. The Zoo is open 10am to 4pm (last admission at 3:30pm). The Brandywine Zoo is managed by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society. The Brandywine Zoo is a member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums and is one of over 240 accredited zoos and aquariums in North America, a distinction that marks its commitment to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for the visitor, and a better future for all living things.

Baby lemur named!
Baby K.J. (Kipp Jr.) will be off exhibit until spring as he grows and strengthens his family bonds. We’ll keep our lemur lovers informed on social media.

Sip & Stroll
Thursday, September 25, 5-7:30pm
Sip & Stroll through the zoo at our family friendly happy hour series, June through September. Each Sip will feature a local food vendor and live music, along with adult beverages, including craft beer and wine. Plus, our concession stand will be open with snacks and soft drinks.
Limited number of tickets will be sold. Drink and food purchases sold separately. Drink tickets ($6) and silicone cups can be purchased at the ticket window or snack bar.
Mighty Monarch Day
Saturday, September 27, 10am-3pm
They’ve spent their summer in Delaware and are now fluttering their way to Mexico. Learn about the journey and the places they call home with monarch themed Storytimes, a craft to make, and a performance by Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo on our amphitheater stage. You can also participate in the Symbolic Migration program by decorating your own paper butterfly that will be sent to children in schools located near the overwintering sites in Mexico!
Scout Night
Saturday, October 4, 4:30-7pm
Enjoy an evening at the zoo for this specially designed event for scouts and their families! There will be activities and learning stations geared toward scout requirements. This program takes place in the zoo so dress for the weather. Pre-registration required.
Migratory Bird Day
Saturday, October 11, 10am-3pm
This year’s theme “Shared Spaces: Building Bird-friendly Cities and Communities” emphasizes the importance of sustainable urban planning to protect habitats and create healthy ecosystems within our cities.
At the zoo, you will learn how to help with actions like window strike prevention, creating habitat, and cutting down on both light and plastic pollution while also visiting with experts in the field of bird conservation.
Boo at the Zoo
Friday, October 17, Saturday, October 18 & Sunday, October 19, 10am-3pm
Celebrate halloween zoo-style with this merry, not scary event. All are invited to wear costumes while visiting the zoo animals. Plenty of treats and activities. Bring your own bag for treats. We’ll have activities for the trick-or-treaters and festive decorations for photo-ops. Brandywine Zoo members receive a discount for this event!
Library passes, guest passes or any other promotion will not be accepted. Tickets available at door and online. Online purchase recommended.
Spirits at the Zoo (21+)
Friday, October 24, 5:30-8pm
Celebrate halloween at the zoo for an evening of holiday revelry.
Enjoy spooky cocktails and liquid libations, light nibbles, and bewitching entertainment with live music by Green Eggs and Jam. Costumes are encouraged!
Tickets include admission and entertainment. Drink and food purchases sold separately. Drink tickets ($6) and silicone cups can be purchased at the ticket window or snack bar.
