VOTE TODAY!

Name our baby lemur

Name the little male crowned lemur born to Kip and Sophie on May 18, 2026. He needs a name now so the keepers can begin his training.

The zookeepers are offering three names to choose from:

  • Baobab: inspired by the “tree of life” and a national symbol of Madagascar.
  • Dimby: Meaning “successor” in Malagasy
  • Kian: Inspired by Kianjavato’s rainforest, where nine lemur species live and where the Kianjavato Lemur Project supports community-led conservation and reforestation.

You can vote for your favorite name every day, once a day by July 15!

The multi-species habitat construction is underway!

We’ve got some exciting construction happening—so we’re launching Behind the Build, your weekly peek into the progress and how our animals are doing along the way.
