Welcome to the
Brandywine Zoo!
The Brandywine Zoo is less than five acres and located in Wilmington, Delaware, along the Brandywine River in beautiful Brandywine Park. The Zoo is open 10am to 4pm (last admission at 3:30pm). The Brandywine Zoo is managed by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society. The Brandywine Zoo is a member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums and is one of over 240 accredited zoos and aquariums in North America, a distinction that marks its commitment to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for the visitor, and a better future for all living things.

Baby lemur alert
A crowned lemur infant was born to lemur residents Sophie and Kipp on May 31, 2025 at the Brandywine Zoo. This is the third successful crowned lemur infant born at Brandywine Zoo, marking a huge win for lemur conservation of this endangered species. Read more about crowned lemurs and see a photo of the parents.
At the initial veterinary exam, the infant looks to be healthy. The sex of the infant is yet to be determined.
The crowned lemur family will be outside on exhibit each morning without other lemurs until further notice. Members of the other zoo lemur species will be allowed back out after 1pm.
Come see the new crowned lemur baby and parents from 10:30am to 1pm every day at the Madagascar Exhibit, weather permitting.
