WILMINGTON – The Brandywine Zoo will kick off spring with its Zoobilee fundraiser event. This year’s event holds special significance as it marks the zoo’s 120th anniversary.
The sold-out gala will take place on Saturday, March 22nd, at the DuPont Country Club, to raise funds for the zoo’s new multi-species habitat.
Organized by the Delaware Zoological Society, the gala will feature a cocktail reception, auctions, dancing, and live music from the local band, What The Funk.
“It’s going to be a very exciting night,” said Mark Shafer, executive director of the Delaware Zoological Society.
The Brandywine Zoo is a longtime Wilmington landmark and has played a pivotal role in wildlife conservation and education for 120 years. As one of the oldest zoos in the country, it’s first jubilee will celebrate the significance of those 120 years.
