Zoo Brief

The Brandywine Zoo features animals from the tropical and temperate areas of North and South America, Asia, and Africa. The zoo animals range from more common species to the highly endangered. Our zoo is small with mostly smaller animals. We provide numerous learning experiences, conservation projects, community outreach programs, and special events for all ages throughout the year. It is open every day, except Christmas, from 10am-4pm. Please check the visit section for more information.

The Brandywine Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. This is the mark of excellence that assures the public that the Brandywine Zoo meets or exceeds professional standards in animal care, education, visitor services, programming, and conservation.

The Brandywine Zoo is managed by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Parks and Recreation. The Brandywine Zoo is supported by the Delaware Zoological Society, the not-for-profit partner of the Brandywine Zoo.
